On September 9 at 1:00 PM Eastern Time, Apple held a launch event titled "Glowtime."
Apple CEO Tim Cook set the tone for the event, calling it "undoubtedly our biggest event of the year." He introduced Apple's new lineup of products including the iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch.
The highlight of the event was the iPhone 16 series, which features chips that support Apple’s personal intelligence system, Apple Intelligence. The first batch of Apple's advanced AI features is expected to go live as soon as next month.
During the event, Apple's stock primarily continued its downward trend. Initially, there was a brief uptick, but after the event concluded, the stock gradually followed the broader market's rebound, closing near the day's low. Ultimately, it ended with a slight gain, stabilizing at the August 12th low established the previous Friday.

Apple Watch Series 10 and Apple Watch Ultra 2
Apple introduced the new Apple Watch Series 10, featuring a completely redesigned case with the largest screen ever in the Apple Watch lineup, even surpassing the Apple Watch Ultra in size. Additionally, the case is 10% thinner than its predecessor.
The Apple Watch Series 10’s crystal is made from durable lon-X glass, and it includes Apple's first wide-angle OLED display, with each pixel optimized to emit more light from a broader viewing angle. The brightness for inclined viewing has been improved by up to 40%, making the watch clearer when worn.
The Apple Watch Series 10 comes in jet black, silver, and rose gold, and it features a polished aluminum exterior with nano-silica particle polishing.
AirPods 4, Upgraded AirPods Max, and AirPods Pro 2
The newly launched AirPods 4 boasts up to 30 hours of battery life and introduces active noise cancellation for the first time, which can actively reduce environmental noise without compromising sound quality. It can also adjust noise cancellation strength based on environmental changes. The new model includes a conversation detection feature that actively lowers music volume to help users hear conversations more clearly.
At the event, Apple announced that it will add three important health protection features to the AirPods Pro 2, with plans to launch them this fall. One of these features is hearing protection, which will work with the iPhone to provide users with regular hearing tests, allowing them to check their hearing status without incurring high testing costs.
iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, and iPhone 16 Pro Series
The new iPhone 16 series was the major highlight of the event. The iPhone 16 series is designed specifically for Apple Intelligence, optimized for running large generative AI models with a neural engine speed boost of 2x. According to Wall Street Journal’s report, at the global developer conference (WWDC) on June 10, Apple introduced Apple Intelligence, which leverages generative AI models based on personal contexts. Deeply integrated into iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia, it enables various cross-app operations, context-driven notifications, writing enhancements, image generation, and more to streamline and accelerate daily tasks. By the end of July, Apple Intelligence first launched on the iPhone, available only to paying developers, with some features like ChatGPT assistance not yet activated.
During Monday’s event, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Software Engineering, Craig Federighi, introduced Apple Intelligence, stating it can operate across languages, images, actions, and personal backgrounds on the phone. He emphasized that user data will never be stored or shared with Apple, and independent experts can verify this privacy commitment. Federighi highlighted a new feature called Genmoji, which allows users to create custom emojis by entering a few words. Users can also input words to retrieve desired photos and videos.
Federighi noted that Apple Intelligence marks the beginning of a new era for Apple's voice assistant, Siri. He mentioned that some new features supported by Apple Intelligence for Siri, which were “limited edition” launched in late July, include the ability to input text prompts for Siri. Even if users have speech difficulties, Siri will be able to understand commands and extract specific details from text conversations.
The first batch of Apple Intelligence features will be available in the U.S. for testing in October, limited to English. In December, local English versions will be rolled out in the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. Starting next year, versions in Chinese, French, Japanese, and Spanish will be launched.
